Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World
|
Customer ReviewsMuch better recipes out there!I was super excited to get this book after hearing all of the media surrounding Hungry Girl and how weight-watcher friendly she is. I have tried at least 10 of these recipes and every single one of them was disappointing. They were not outright inedible but there are definitely better recipes with low point values out there! The Fiber One coated onion rings looked beautiful but they tasted exactly like a handful of Fiber One cereal, even with the half jar of cajun spices I added to it...Ick! The twice bakes potatoes tasted exactly like a baked potato minus any sort of cream, cheese, salt, seasoning or anything else that makes a baked potato good--so boring. Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real W One of my best picks for a weight watcher recipe book with amazing (I actually make these recipes even when I'm not counting points) is Weight Watchers Pure Comfort Foods recipe book. They were sold last year at Weight Watcher stores but have become slightly harder to find. Try to find that book instead of this one---it's much more fulfilling than these diet-tasting recipes! This cookbook rocks! Save your $$$ This hungry girl has lost 7 pounds in a month using the recipes in this book (and that was during the holiday season!). The food tastes great and it keeps a hungry girl full and happy! I just wish there were more family type recipes included. Great book! I'd recommend it to hungry girls and not-so-hungry girls everywhere! Take all your regular recipes and insert fat free or sugar free where possible. ie, butters, dressings, creams. You will then have your very own HG cookbook. Save your cash for a new pair of shoes to celebrate your intelligence. Hungry Girl convert This book has changed the way I cook. Whether I use recipes from the book or make my old favorites, this way of cooking encourages me to look for substitute ingredients that can make a big difference in the calorie content of foods. Turns out, eating healthily is a lot different than it was 10 years ago. It actually tastes great! Wow! What a great find! I love to cook and I love to eat. No wonder I am a Weight Watcher. I saw this book and "took a chance". It is wonderful. A great weight loss tool to say the least! Imagine eating onion rings when you are on a diet! And the majority of the recipes are "doable" for a diabetic as well. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is trying to gain better health. Another good feature is that the recipes do not make a huge amount and, most of the ingredients are things you already have in your pantry. A for sure "YES"! 273 reviews found.
