Mister Mistress Volume 1 (Yaoi) (Mister Mistress)

This is a great Yaoi. Very interesting story plot. All about a Demon and a
Human who are falling in love. In this second one you also add in a little
more background on the Demon and discover another Demon is at the school.

As the other reviews will tell you, this seems like a funny, funny story. It seems like it will be the best yaoi you've ever read (or maybe that was just my impression?) and it does present some funny scenes here and again, but I was very disappointed. there's no getting around it or ebing nice, becuase I didn't find it entertaining at *all*. And I was so looking forwards to it, you should have seen me, all smiles and awaiting it's delivery, but it just didn't happen for me. So, I won't not reccomend it, but I won't advertize it with love either.

I had read the other reviews and expected one thing, but what I got was another thing entirely. The book was really cute...Well, other than all the sex going on. And even then, it wasn't quite sex, it was moreso buildup to the second book.

I'm hoping that the second book is as good as the first one was.

To begin, the book itself is not very thick (about 174 pages). Seeing that it is apart of a longer series (at least 3+ vols), it would have been nice to get more substance for my retail price of $[...] (+tax). The pages are an odd shade of white-yellow, but still acceptable. The inking is very well done.

As for the plot - well that is a bit more difficult to describe. The central idea that Fujimaru and his family move into his grandfather's old home. At this home, Fujimaru ends up releasing an incubus that has been confined within the home the past 50 years. How does he release it? Well, Fujimaru enjoys his "alone time" in the bathroom and this bring the demon out of his slumber. From this point on, the story centers on little else than Fujimaru's hormonal needs and the incubus' desire to inflate those needs. (As the story explains the incubus feeds of sexual energy.)

The pair are set up to mirror common seme/uke archetypes. Fujimaru, our uke, is inexperienced, horny, cute in a boy-ish way, and is reluctant to participate in any male-on-male sexual interaction (don't worry there is no non-con in this work!). The incubus, Rei, our seme, is obviously experienced since he IS an incubus, very adult and manly in appearance, and forceful. Still, character quirks make the work interesting. (Ever seen tentacles working on a guy?) Perhaps the biggest surprise is best left unsaid, but suffice to say it is surprising given the amount of sex depicted in the work.

This said, yes the work is explicit (with the usual censoring of male anatomy - but oddly not the cartoon drawings of "little" Fujimaru). It would be best described as a smut fest with some plot thrown in. In fact the work attempts as a plot at the end of the final chapter. I don't know how it will play out, but given the working plotless-ness of the work I'm skeptical.

As for the art it is standard yaoi. Very pretty boys with decent background work.

Overall, is you are looks for a work with lots of boy-on-boy action (and in interesting ways) with little to no plot then this is for you! If you enjoy more plot, more romantic build-up steer clear.

Just a word of warning: Fujimaru is a ltiile younger looking than the front cover depicts. Bio says he's 16 but looks a little younger.

Fujimaru's family inherits a house from his (great?)grandfather. He moves into a house with his mother, younger brother. The father is mentioned but as far as I can tell his whereabouts are unknown. After seeing Rei in a mirror, and fainting, Fujimaru starts to have dreams with Rei doing things to him. After Rei gets enough power from Fujimaru he is able to create a body in the real world. It's a funny story with several graphic scenes though none are explicit. Even though there is shown a depiction of "Little Fujimaru" talking in several scenes.

This is somewhat of a Spoiler but: For those whom don't like man/teen boy pairings they don't do the deed in this volume but there is a volume 2 to be released and such may happen there.
