Godless: The Church of Liberalism The New York Times number one best selling author Ann Coulter has hit another homerun with her latest book Godless: The Church of Liberalism. Part of her success, no doubt, is wrought by her speaking to the concerns of many Americans who feel that liberalism is rapidly undermining traditional Judeo-Christian religious values. However, as Ann Coulter reveals in this, her most controversial book yet, that liberalism has become the state sanctioned religion in its own right, albeit a godless one. Although liberalism disallows the idea of God, it bears the attributes of any traditional religions- including articles of faith (in bogus science) that we are subjected to accept as a matter of fact. And heaven help us if we deviate in any fashion form the straight and narrow path of the church of liberalism, which worships the creation and not the creator. This druid dogma manifests itself in most every walk of life, but is perhaps best illustrated in the jacket cover of this book which says: "In Godless, Coulter throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (roe v. Wade), its martyrs, (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal), its clergy (public school teachers), its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free), its doctrine of infallibility ( as manifest in the 'absolute moral authority' of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland), and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident)." While these proclamations may be bold, they are only surpassed by Ann's own brand of razor sharp sarcasm. No one on the Left is discriminated against. She slices and dices them all with equal vigor.
The author finds it ironic that liberals fight tooth and nail against religion in the affairs of state, but carefully guard their own religion to make sure it is not challenged as the affair of state. Perhaps her most explosive thesis is that liberals, because of their druid devotion to the earth, actually are anti people- (because we are seen to have an impact on the environment) and therefore have become the party of "death", relentless in opposition to every Biblical precept or the Constitution- both which they hate, because they are forged in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Nowhere is this more manifest than in abortion- no matter what the cost, even if it is to protect the right to suck the brains out of half born babies. As Ann clarifies, Partial Birth Abortion is the euphemism in this case, for this diabolical deed.
Godless goes on to slam the state run school systems as the "clergy and church" preaching the state sanctioned religion of removing god from the class room, promoting the bogus science of evolution, global warming, and passing out free condoms. Liberals invoke the sanctity of "science" in academia when it promotes their agenda, but employ a number of sham tactics when it does not. According to Ann, Liberals actually hate genuine science, unless it involves some sort of Nazi experimentation with human embryos. Most of their science doesn't hold up to genuine scientific scrutiny, requiring great leaps of faith, not unlike a lot of religions. Nowhere is this more prevalent than with evolution, the keystone of the godless religion of the left. Coulter spends about a third of the book dealing with Darwinism, revealing that after 150 years of dedicated digging into the fossil record, evolution's proponents have utterly failed to substantiate their claims- presenting hoax after hoax to support their indefensible positions. But more to the point, the left's total dedication to Darwinism has everything to do with the fact that liberals refuse to accept the possibility of a higher power as a creative force- while forcing us, by law, to accept the precepts of the Church of Liberalism. No wonder, with no god at he helm, we are loosing our moral compass. Eugenics, abortion, infanticide, genocide, soviet gulags and the like have now become the norm of the new druid high priest of the world.
At 310 pages, Godless: The Church of Liberalism is non-stop information, ideas and wit. Never one to bore, Ann Coulter's entertainment factor and steel-trap positions on the issues make it hard to stop reading even if you don't agree with all she has to say.
